The German dance group Cascada (pronounced: /kæˈskɑdə/) consists of singer
Natalie Horler DJ / producers Yanou and DJ Manian. Cascada is most famous
for the hit single "Everytime We Touch". The trio has also released singles
under other aliases, including Siria, Akira, and Diamond.
Everytime We Touch
Cascada experienced mainstream success in the United Kingdom and the United
States almost a year after releasing their second American single, "Everytime
We Touch". Soon after the popularity of the single skyrocketed, an album was
quickly recorded and released (in a matter of months), and a music video for
"Everytime We Touch" was also distributed for promotion. For these reasons,
the debut album maintains a very similar formula throughout, to the extent
of near-identical tempo and beats. Four singles have been released in the
United Kingdom; "Everytime We Touch", "Truly Madly Deeply", "Miracle" and "A
Neverending Dream" all of which gained top 10 status apart from "A
Neverending Dream which charted at a very poor #46. Their album "Everytime
We Touch" has experienced success in the UK Album chart where it moved up in
the charts for 6 weeks since it was released in the beginning of March,
peaking at #2. The album experienced success on the U.S. charts as well.
Second Album
Horler recently announced that Cascada is working on their second album
during a Japanese interview, which is posted in their blog on MySpace. She
stated that there will be a few more ballads, and possibly a house track on
the next album. Natalie also stated in a French Interviewthat she will take
a hand in writing parts of the album. The album is set to be released
sometime during the Summer in the UK, however, it is unknown about the US
release. One confirmed track by AATW is a cover of Patti Smith's "Because
the Night". Another possible, but not confirmed track is "Castles in the
Sky," which has also been covered by many other artists. Samples of both
songs have been circulated on the internet, but Natalie's vocals can only be
recognized on "Because the Night".
